Ever wondered what open data is? Well, it turns out it's pretty important and is changing the lives of everyone on our planet. Yes, really.
Open data is essentially data that anyone can access, use, and share. And governments, businesses and people can use it to bring about important social, economic and environmental benefits. The Open Data Institute (ODI) even runs a free, online course specifically designed to help you discover what open data is, and how life changing it can be.
This short course covers 16 quick but key lessons, including how to unlock the value of data, what makes quality open data, the role of data in sustainability, achieving impact with open data – and much more.
Also (and we can say from experience) being a member of the ODI has some great perks when it comes to tools and training. So you should definitely look at what’s on offer.
