Call me a cynic, but every time I see a public debate, media headline, or video which is based on true ‘facts’, my first thought tends to be, is that REALLY true?
Full Fact, to the rescue. This great website takes these concerns and checks the facts on your behalf. They also follow up on their fact checks and ask people to correct the record on the rare occasion they get things wrong. A registered charity, Full Fact doesn’t take sides, and is founded by a cross-party board including representatives of different political parties and viewpoints.
Recent (and often amusing) highlights include: PCR tests aren’t being used to clone humans, you can’t buy an Argos air dryer for £2 and the fact that the BBC should have put billions, not millions in their news report on Jeremy Hunt’s Autumn Statement.
