We’re back with another helpful Chrome extension that’s guaranteed to make your competitor research easier. CSS Peeper is a free extension for the Google Chrome browser that allows you to look under the bonnet of a website.
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and is a rule-based language used to style and layout web pages. For example, it’s often used to alter the font, colour, size, and spacing of your content.
With CSS Peeper, you can easily see the exact colours and fonts that have been used on a website without having to tediously inspect the code using developer tools within the browser itself.
Here’s an example of CSS Peeper in action on the HubSpot website. You can easily see all of the different hex codes that have been used throughout the site at the click of a button. On a separate tab, it also reveals the font families that have been used. CSS Peeper is a real time saver, and definitely worth a look.
